JOY Factory coming soon!

MELT’s upcoming headquarters have a rich enough history to rival MELT's own rich flavor profiles.

Our off-site kitchen expansion project is set to be complete at the start of the new year in the OB Macaroni building, which you may have seen while traveling down I-35W.

The space will house a brand new “Joy Factory,” complete with office and kitchen space for plenty of new ice cream flavors and concoctions. Perhaps a few surprises are in store, too...

The O.B. Macaroni building, located off I-35W and 108 South Freeway, became a Fort Worth staple long before pasta was involved. In the 1860s, the building was a stagecoach hotel for travelers and businessmen passing through Cowtown. A few horseshoes remain hung in the building, turned upwards for good luck. The turn of the century brought a macaroni business to the building, after a few construction projects. O.B. Macaroni has occupied the building for the last 110 years before expanding to a newer facility.

What’s left? Much of the macaroni-making hardware was integrated into the building where it will stay. Architectural elements of the landmark will also be preserved throughout the current renovation projects, paying homage to the past. MELT is honored to carry on the many stories the building holds, alongside other Funkytown entrepreneurs.

What’s new? Some of your favorite local brands now house their manufacturing and office spaces in different parts of the building.

W Durable Goods is devoted to hand-cut and sewn bags that are built to last, along with other classic brands and antique products on display.

TexMalt is a traditional malting house for cereal grains that eventually make their way to Texas breweries and distilleries.

Craftwork Coffee is using the OB Macaroni space for roasting coffee beans to be ground and brewed just for you.

And of course, MELT Ice Creams!
